Dr. Kelly Randolph Bennett, BS, MS, Ph.D., EMDR
Experience and Education
Dr. Bennett was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering (UCLA), a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (CSULA), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Psychology and Learning Disorders (UCLA). In the interim, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary and Hebrew Union Seminary for Biblical and Language Studies, as well as other Universities. He has trained graduate and undergraduate students in American and Australian Universities. From 1968, Professional Registration for psychological consulting has been approved by two States of America (California, New Mexico), two States of Australia (New South Wales, Victoria), and now Ecuador, South America. He gained Certification in EMDR (1996), and Brainwave Technology (2006)
His broad life experience enables him to relate well to a wide variety of diverse people and situations. His first career was as a teenage television musical performer. Upon marrying, he required a more stable career and left music to train as an Astronautical Engineer. His first position was with Douglas Space Systems as an Advance Design Engineer (1958). The focus was on exotic space system designs 25 years into the future, both military and commercial. He was offered an opportunity as scientific advisor to the House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. (1962).
Being more interested in the complex dynamics of people rather than things, he retrained in Clinical and Developmental Psychology, receiving a Ph.D. in 1971. He created a family counseling private practice in Palos Verdes, later in San Diego, California. There he taught community-based self-development courses through local churches, taught at California State University Dominguez Hills, and managed a psychological test development business (Life Themes International).
In early 1986, he migrated to Australia. During 12 years in Sydney, he was known as a people strategist and suitability specialist, consulting with over 75 business organizations and government agencies in Australia, Fiji, and China, including the Australian Department of Defense and the New South Wales Premier’s Office. He also gained Certification in EMDR.
In 1998, he returned to the USA. Five years after arriving in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he published his first book Too Much, Too Little, Just Right (2003), a concise book about how to recognize and avoid extremes in life while successfully following a more balanced middle path, using his creation The Tool. This book is also a primer on Hope, and provides a structured approach to developing skill in the use of the Imagination, taking the reader toward life as it could be! A second edition is in the press. His new book The Ascension Perspective, Rise Above The Chaos of Life, was just published, with his wife Cheryl Romney-Brown, as an e-book and soft cover on Amazon. A Spanish translation, as well as a sequel, is in preparation.
He has been a professional counselor for over 50 years in California and New Mexico, USA, Victoria, and New South Wales, Australia, and now Cuenca, Ecuador. Along with counseling, his current specialty is Brain Dynamics, using powerful psychological counseling methods and tools, including a non-invasive, neurotechnology-based, profoundly relaxing and restorative brainwave optimizing service. Once the brain relaxes sufficiently, it balances and harmonizes its own complex functions anew, recovering from the traumatic effects of stress, restoring its flexibility, allowing the body and mind to move naturally toward more complete health.
